New to the blogosphere?
Don't worry, so am I.
Starting your first blog should be a fun, exciting new adventure--and most of the time it is. However, it can also be totally overwhelming and, at times, even discouraging. Every blog you visit seems to have cooler features than yours, people are constantly using lingo you don't understand, and there seems to be several dozen unspoken rules about blogging, pinning, and linking up. I created this page just to help me keep track of it all, and as an easy reference for others I may meet along the way.
And if you're feeling discouraged, just remember--this is supposed to be fun. If you brave through it all, you will probably wind up with a pretty neat blog, lots of new friends, and an encyclopedia's worth of new knowledge.
- Grab My Button Code Generator helps you create the "Grab a Button!" widget you see on so many people's side bars. You know--the one's with the HTML code for you to grab directly underneath the image?
- A great website for HTML tutorials w3schools.com already did an excellent job explaining how to write HTML code to open a link in a new window, and it has tons of other HTML tutorials I am just waiting to try.
- Color Converter I like to have my color schemes "just so," which can be difficult if you are designing blog elements in multiple platforms. Yellow Pipe Internet Services provides an easy-to-use color converter that translates colors betweens RGB and hex color codes so you can keep a consistent look.
- PicMonkey Photo Editing PicMonkey is an easy-to-use, totally free photo-editing site. All of those images you see on Pinterest with text and embellishments on them can easily be duplicated with PicMonkey.
